Awkward and downright unreliable
program interfaces. Sometimes I think that many open
source programmers have never used real software. They
don't seem to have any idea what mainstream users have come to
expect in terms of consistency among interfaces and the controls
they comprise.

I haven't tried to set up a wireless
network adapter in Linux, but I've heard it can send you
scrambling for a good long ethernet cable.

Too many different distros.
Talk about reinventing the wheel! It's no wonder Linux is
a mere curiosity to the masses. And before one of you
Linux guys starts in about 'Screw the masses', remember some of
those masses are doing Cancer research. If you Linux folks
would agree on one distro and get it right, then the Cancer
researcher could take the $600 she going to spend on Vista and
buy test tubes with it.
